Upon arrival in Christchurch, travelers will be charmed not only by the century-old, English Victorian architecture in the central business district, and the numerous parks and gardens, but also by the tranquil Avon River entwined in the city's heart. One of the best places to enjoy lunch and relax in the sun is on its grassy banks lined with weeping willows and poplars.
